Ipsy - Beauty Rocks!

lately my ipsy bag has been on point! i usually give a couple goodies away because they are either not for my skin type/color, or they're repeats. i just hope the next couple of months are great as well!!

let's get started!

this months bag beauty rocks, came with 5 beauty samples.

let me start off by saying that i will be purchasing this little wonder asap! i was so excited when i saw this little guy in my bag, and after testing this primer, i am sold!
the only other primer i have tried is smashbox's iconic photo finish, so compared to that one this ones a little thicker and it has a slight scent to it. nothing crazy or too overwhelming. i don't have acne issues so i can't really give my opinion on that part, but i assume that is one of the reasons as to why there is a scent.

rainbow honey cosmetics // nail polish // midnight fountain // $10
anyone who knows me knows that i am a nail polish junkie! creme, glitter, jelly, etc., i do not discriminate! with that being said, i loved this sample. two coats and i was good to go.

mary kay at play // jelly lip gloss // teddy bare // $10
it's a little sticky, but the color is really pretty! it does not have a scent.

urban decay // 24/7 glide-on eye pencil // black velvet // $20
ud never let's me down!

sexy hair // root pump volumizing spray mousse // $18
again, one of my favorite brands for styling products. big texan hair anyone? my clients love when i use this to give them insane volume!!

well there you have it!
if any of you are subscribed to ipsy and recieved a glam bag this month leave a comment down below with a link to your review, or tag me on ig: glamjunkie_ so i can take a peek at your goodies!

Estée Lauder - 7pc Gift with Purchase

in order to receive their 7 piece gift you have to make a minimum $35 purchase. i was looking for a light weight "foundation" so i bought their bb creme in shade 2 medium; $39.

the gift includes;

1 - lily pulitzer cosmetic bag

deluxe size
 1.7 oz // $48

 1.0 oz  $62 // 1.7 oz // $92

deluxe travel size
5.0 fl oz // $25

full size
12 beige // shimmer // $26

01 black // $24
(not photographed because i could not find it.)

ivory slipper // satin // $22
tempting mocha // shimmer // $22
nocturnal blue // satin // $22
amazing grey // shimmer // $22

the advanced night repair and daywear creme paired together have officially become my holy grail. they seriously worked wonders on my extremely flaky dry skin. i first came across these two a couple weeks ago while i was out with my mom. we stopped by an estée lauder counter to get our complimentary eye makeup done, and i asked for a couple samples. within two days my skin was back to normal. so naturally when i found out they were having a gwp and those two were included, i didn't hesitate to make a purchase!

i've had these products for a little over two weeks, and i'm pleased with how my skin has been looking.
any product that does not irritate my super sensitive skin automatically finds a home in my heart. i'll definitely be purchasing full sizes of the skin care and the bb creme.

MAC // Playland

i'm sooo glad they finally came in!
they're really gorgeous colors, but not for my skin tone. at least not alone & where's the fun in that?!

au natural.

sweet experience
amplified // bright pink // $16.

it looks so pretty in the tube but when i applied it on my lips it looked crazy! my yellow undertones were really clashing with it, but i think once i start to get a tan it'll actually be a really gorgeous shade. it applied beautifully, but it's longevity was pretty disappointing. i'm aware that amplified lipsticks are great for those of us with drier than normal lips, but this one seemed a little too buttery. you definitely need a lip liner to avoid any feathering.

toying around
 amplified // hot coral pink // $16.

now this one looked pretty scary & i was almost inclined to return it without even swatching. it's that loud. but i decided to give it a try & i'm so glad i did! the formula's a little dryer than most, but far from being a matte. this helps with the longevity. it also glides on smoothly. it looks a little more red-orangey on me, but it's absolutely gorgeous.

one quick question:
what's your favorite brand of lipstick?

China Glaze: Sea Goddess

it's been a while since i stopped by my local sally's beauty supply; but every time i walk in, i can never walk out without a polish in hand. today i walked out with three. >_< one of which isn't photographed..yet! they were having this special buy two, get one free on all their polishes. when i laid eyes on these gorgeous shades i just had to have them!

l-r // wish on a starfish. teal the tide turns.

i feel as though i should have taken my time to read the display properly. at first glance i thought these polishes were cremes with small specks of glitter. nope i was wrong. they're textured!

i haven't swatched wish on a starfish yet, but i created this simple mani with teal the tide.

i honestly wore the mani for a day, the texture was so annoying! don't get me wrong, the colors are gorgeous, but i probably won't be wearing them on my hands ever again. they can make their reappearance on my toes.

question:
what's your go to nail polish shade?

Pump Up The Volume!!

what girl doesn't dream of waking up in the morning with voluminous, luxurious locks? i know i do! unfortunately what i end up waking up with looks more like a birds nest, not cute! then after combing it out i end up with really unflattering FLAT hair. so this past weekend i stopped by my local beauty supplier and picked up these beauties. now i'm not gonna lie, what drew me to them was the packaging. who doesn't like pink packaging?! i still haven't gotten the chance to use them on myself, but i did get the opportunity to use them on a client & the results were gorgeous!!

pillow proof blowdry // two day extender.
okay so i lied, i have gotten the opportunity try out one of the products..this is it. now lord knows i don't need any more dry shampoos but i just couldn't help it!! i usually apply mine the same day i wash my hair & reapply the following day. by the third day i either wash it or let it go another day with more dry shampoo. can't help it. not only does my color last longer, but any style i choose to do looks 100x better on dirty hair. i didn't notice much residue & the scent isn't overwhelming.

control addict 28 // extra high hold hairspray.
i feel the need to play around with this a little more to decide if i really like it or not. i'm not much of a hairspray kind of girl. probably because i hate the crunch, flakes & stickiness that tags along with it. shits gross. redken claims that its humidity resistant, has a matte satin finish & its flexible which won't cause flakiness, all while giving maximum hold.

pillow proof blowdry express // primer with heat protection.
looove this!!! it does just what it says: cuts my drying time in half, protects my hair up to 450° & primes it for all other styling products.

iron shape 11 // heat protection spray.
this product paired with the pillow proof blowdry express primer are my go to styling products. it has a medium hold & protects up to 450°; count me in! i would definitely purchase this if you're a fan of flat ironing or curling your hair.

guts 10 // volume spray foam.
ahhh, last but not least, my secret weapon. i fu*kin love this!! it's teasing in a bottle. works wonders i tell ya! if there's something i hate more than having flat hair, it's having to work to get voluminous hair. i hate it. not only am i not a fan of hair breakage; my arms get tired! this seriously saves me soooo much time. i spray a little, 4-6in away, on my roots; give it a light tease & i'm good to go!!
goodbye flat & boring,
hello luxurious voluminous texan hair!!

tip: have you ever noticed that redken's style products usually have a number that follows the name on the bottle? well here's a little fun fact i learned back in beauty school, the higher the number the more hold it has. the lower the number, the less hold it has. they really couldn't have made it easier for us to find what we're looking for.

01 - 05: little to no control.
06  - 15: medium control.
16 - 28: maximum control.

so there you have it, i'll be doing an update as time goes by & i get to play with these products more. in the meantime why don't you tell me what are some of your favorite styling products. leave them in the comment box below & i'll be sure to check them out!
